Finding Little Treasures

Meet Jules. One of my very best friends.

Jules is the master-mind behind the newest craze to hit Waxahachie.

Jules and her mom, Tammy Minyard, started the Facebook group, Rocks-a-Hachie, after Jules painted a rock and hid it in Mansfield, Texas.

She enjoyed the experience so much and wanted to do it in her hometown, but there was no rock painting group in Waxahachie. This is when Jules began asking her mom to help her start a Facebook group for their town.

The rest is history. At the time of the interview, the group had over 700 members. At last check before this posting, the group is up to 868 members! She says some of the neatest rocks that have been found so far are emojis, beach themes, sayings, and God loves you.

Jules has painted over 100 rocks. I asked her to take a guess at how many rocks she thinks have been hidden in her town and she thinks about 1,000!

Her instructions are simple:

First, pick a good rock.

Next, paint it.

Be sure to put "Rocks-A-Hachie on FB" on the back.

Then, hide it in a good public place.

Jules ended our interview by saying it makes her happy when others are happy and this gives her the opportunity to spread the love of Jesus through messages on some of the rocks. What she said last sums it up:

"Finding rocks is like finding little treasures."
